GivingTuesday is a day to do good.
GivingTuesday’s vision is a “re-imagined world built on shared humanity, kindness, and giving”.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 and has since grown into a year-round global movement that engages over 85 countries and hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
The first GivingTuesday in 2012 raised $10.1 million in the United States and has grown rapidly to a record-breaking $3.1 billion in 2022.
In 2022, GivingTuesday exceed previous records and expectations raising over $3.1 billion USD in the United States alone. Online donations exceeded $1 billion USD for the first time, emphasizing the importance of all nonprofits providing modern online giving experiences.
GivingTuesday staff broke down the emotional focus of online calls-to-action and found the most used were:
